*WOC: Weeks on Charts
Band of Bugs has a decent debut at #3 with only half a week's worth of sales. Hard for it to break the top two when Prince of Persia and Pac Man C.E. have the "new twist on that nostalgic feeling" going for them.
Now that the straightforward commentary is over, the bizarre commentary can begin after the break.
The strange story here is that this list is extraordinarily close to the one we had two weeks ago. With the exception of the two new games (Prince of Persia and Band of Bugs), seven games return from that list. The only released game that did not also make the list two weeks ago is Texas Hold 'em which got a boost last week from the Alltel contest and holds on to the tenth slot this week.
And now I am thoroughly confused. Where did Aegis Wing (Free), Hexic (Free), and Geometry Wars: R.E. (400 MSP) come from last week? And where did they go this week? Was their appearance an error? I think I will have to do some sleuthing on this one.

Any tomfoolery with the post
Any tomfoolery with the post is probably because I love to post and then edit all the mistakes I realized I made really fast.
I think you're right about it being a mistake. I'm gonna ask Major about that.
3D Ultra Minigolf at 7?
3D Ultra Minigolf at 7? Really?
I mean of all the games to rank up so highly...:-\
I figured out the Geo Wars
I figured out the Geo Wars mystery. It's packed in for free on the 512MB memory unit. So, that too could be an indication of accessory sales. I'm backing the it was just a mistake theory.

I feel like I left a comment
I feel like I left a comment on this post and then the poster, the format, and the commentary all changed, and my comment disappeared. hmm...
I'm pretty sure it was a mistake by MS releasing the free games on the list last week. The last thing they want to do is give out their sales figures to the competition, and Hexic nails things down to a certain extent.
I doubt Geo Wars was in error, though... I don't know what to make of that one making a decent chart showing and then disappearing again.
