Luxor 2 Achievements Unveiled
Xbox 360 Achievements have gotten their hands on the achievements for Luxor 2, which as you know is in the list of the next few Xbox Live Arcade games to be released. Granted they have a lot of achievements for unreleased games on their site, but do you feel this spells a possible chance at a release next week for this title?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Achievements
Xbox 360 Achievements has revealed all but one of the achievements for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While the achievements aren't as tough as Bejeweled, they are some of the toughest I have seen for Xbox Live Arcade. Most of the achievements are of the lose less than 20 health points while defeating X boss variety. Come tommorrow we will really know who has turtle power.
Pinball FX Achievements Revealed
DaKing240 has gotten his hands on the Pinball FX achievements list. Without playing the game I would have to say the hardest one is problem "Elite Operative", which requires you to "Complete a Hurry Up mode within 20 seconds on the Agents pinball table." According to previous reports, this game should be out within the next 2-3 months, so keep an eye out.
Maximum Number of Achievements is now 15
Bigvip announced on the latest (2/11) Major Nelson podcast that the total number of Xbox Live Arcade achievements have jumped from 12 to 15. Keep in mind that this doesn't mean that there will be more than 200 achievement points (pre-downloadable content that is) but just that the total number of allowed achievements is higher. This hopefully will give developers more room to make revolutionary achievements like Small Arm's "Six Degrees of Small Arms".
Thanks to prym3 for the tip on that one.
Devs able to add up to 50 Achievement points to XBLA titles
Achievements, just the word gets people going. To some, it means playing hours on end to get every single last one of them, to others, it's a great idea gone wrong with the rampant "cheating" involved, to even more (me included), it's a score of just how bad you are at some games (damn you bejeweled!).Well it seems that Microsoft has decided that another way they can ensure better sales of DLC, is to add the point system to some of it's offerings.
Aaron Greenburg (or BIGVIP) has just posted on Gamerscoreblog, that from now on, not only will retail games be required to all for 1000 points with nothing but the disc purchase (some of it can be through DLC, but if it's towards the 1000 points, then it must be free), but developers can now add achievement points to DLC, either paid for or free. The additional points isn't limited to just retail games though, from now on developers looking to add some value to their downloadable content, can now add up to 50 additional points.
While personally I think this is a great idea, and wished it was around for the Outpost Kaloki X DLC, I wonder if this may be perceived by some as yet another cash grab by Microsoft. Regardless of how you feel about this, one thing can be certain, this will get people on all sides talking.
